Founding of Wahl & Co in Bielefeld by Karl Wahl, Heinrich Schwentker and Hermann Schwentker. The first location is at the freight yard next to the main train station in Bielefeld.
Moving to a shipping building on Heinrich-Koch-Straße. Branches are founded in Hamburg and Berlin.
Construction of a new freight forwarding plant near the city. This new headquarters on Eckendorfer Straße, as well as in the branches in Hamburg and Berlin, employ around 200 people.
Founded with 6 other partners of the unitrans groupage cooperation, which has formed a comprehensive, brand-quality general cargo network right from the start. As part of this establishment, the Hamburg and Berlin locations will be integrated into the partner companies there. In Bielefeld, one of the most modern freight forwarding facilities in Europe is built and purchased in the Sennestadt district in just eight months.
With the founding of BTG (Biendorfer Transportgesellschaft mbH), opening of a new location in Saxony-Anhalt.
Moving to Irxleben to a new freight forwarding facility with a 4,000 square meter groupage warehouse. The 21,000 sqm company site is located in the immediate vicinity of the A2. BTG is renamed Unitrans by Magdeburg GmbH. The quality management of the entire Unitrans cooperation is tested and certified in accordance with DIN EN ISO 9001.
To expand logistical activities, a 5,200 sqm high-bay warehouse with around 12,500 pallet spaces is being built adjacent to the transshipment terminal in Bielefeld.
Together with UniTrans partners, Wahl & Co is installing an environmental management system certified in accordance with DIN EN ISO 14.001.
By founding the joint venture Danzas Wahl International GmbH, Wahl & Co has access to the global network of Danzas DHL, with over 4,000 branches.
As a logical consequence of our commitment to the environment and quality, the responsible handling of dangerous goods far beyond legal requirements is also ensured and certified in accordance with DIN EN ISO 12.798.
Opening of our logistics center in Bielefeld, which offers a total of 15,000 square meters of first-class logistics space spread over six levels specifically for packaging and commissioning work.

Commissioning of one of the largest solar power plants in East Westphalia on a roof area of 11,000 square meters.
In order to take account of the expansion of international traffic, a new 450 sqm office is being built for the growing number of DHL Wahl International employees.
Expansion of the freight forwarding plant in Irxleben. Almost 6,000 square meters are now available for freight forwarding and logistical processes.
We are inaugurating our new high-bay warehouse in Bielefeld. A further 15,000 pallet spaces are thus available to our customers. In addition, 6,500 square meters of logistics space, which is also suitable for storing substances hazardous to water.
Wahl Transport GmbH & Co KG is founded. In future, the company will bundle all activities related to our own vehicle fleet.
Establishment of a new logistics location in Herford. Warehousing and value-added services are provided on 10,000 square meters.

Wahl & Co takes over all employees of DHL Wahl International GmbH. In this way, we want to offer our customers even better service “from a single source”.
The first e-truck in the fleet is put into operation. A Volvo FL 42 R Electric ensures zero-emission delivery and collection in East Westphalia-Lippe.
